DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADJUST YOUR SETS!  The Nevada County Concert Band will be in control of the airwaves surrounding the Alta Sierra Country Club on Sunday September 10, 2017 at 5:00 pm as we present our #4 of 4 Picnic & Pops Concert themed ÒSunday Night LIVE!Ó which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love.

The 90+ member band will pay homage to television variety shows with musical selections ranging from mirth to mayhem, sweet to silly, Broadway to Rock, John Phillip Sousa to Jimmy Hendrix, and all presented in formats ranging from Lawrence Welk to Ed Sullivan and Monty Python to Saturday Night Live.

This Òfilmed before a live audienceÓ event includes time-traveling with the medley ÒSummer of Õ69Ó and a salute to the mop tops with ÒBeatles Medley.Ó  We also have it on good authority (the local ones) that Jake and Elwood will bring their best dance moves with ÒBlues Brothers Review.Ó  And to round out our look in the rear view mirror to when TV was king, the sparkling toe-tapping tunes from the Broadway musical ÒGreaseÓ may inspire spontaneous jitterbugging, and a longing for black leather jackets and poodle skirts with smart sweater sets.

Several of our bandÕs ensembles will play command performances of their most requested tunes from our summer season.  WeÕll even have our own champagne lady, Patsy Hannebrink dazzling us with an amazing accordion solo.

Fred and Wilma are gonna love the Abba-dabba-licious medley of hit tunes from the Broadway production of  ÒMamma Mia,Ó and the ever suave and always debonaire Agent 007 will drop in for ÒBondÉ James BondÓ to see that it complies with the standards and regulations of Her MajestyÕs Secret Service.

This really big shew will be live and in color from the beautiful environs of the Alta Sierra Country Club.  The concert is free, open to the public, accessible and very family friendly.  Donations to support the band will be gratefully accepted with our sincere appreciation.  Bring a picnic or visit the clubÕs food bar for hamburgers, hotdogs or ice cream.  There will also be beer and wine service available.

Get the family together and be part of this Òone-night only television spectacular.Ó  Maybe, even let Junior stay up just a little past his bedtime!
